Contextualizing Photos and Videos with Assets or Anomalies

Linking photos and videos to assets or anomalies allows you to:

  • View inspection media directly from an asset or anomaly record

  • Improve traceability between observations and physical equipment

  • Reduce time spent searching for supporting media

  • Maintain clear historical documentation of inspections and findings


Associate Media with Assets or Anomalies

Follow the steps below to contextualize photos or videos.

Step 1: Navigate to Media

  1. Open the Media module.

  2. Select either:

    • Videos, or

    • Photos


Step 2: Open Association Options

  1. Select the media item you want to associate.

  2. Locate the Associated Assets or Associated Anomalies section.


Step 3: Link the Media

To Associate with Assets

  1. Select Add Related Assets.

  2. Search for and select the asset(s) you want to associate with the media.

  3. Click Submit.


To Associate with Anomalies

  1. Select Tag Anomaly.

  2. Search for and select the anomaly (or anomalies) you want to associate.

  3. Click Submit.


Result

Once submitted:

  • The photo or video becomes visible for the selected asset or anomaly record.

  • The media is now contextually linked, enabling faster navigation between inspections, anomalies, and supporting evidence.


Best Practices

  • Associate media immediately after upload to maintain accurate context.

  • Link media to both assets and anomalies when applicable.

  • Use clear media titles or descriptions to improve searchability.
