Editing an Asset's Type

Change an asset's Type and Sub Types from its details page

Written by John Ennis

An asset's Type determines how it's categorized within Enaimco and which fields, tabs, and analyses are available for it (for example, Valves, XTs, or Sensors). You can update an asset's Type and Sub Types at any time from its Details page.

How to Edit an Asset's Type

1. Navigate to the asset you want to update.

2. Click the (more options) icon in the top-right corner of the asset view.

3. Select Edit from the menu.

4. Under General Asset Details, click the Type field to open the dropdown.

5. Use the search box to find the type you want (for example, Manifold, Riser, Jumper, or Flowline), or scroll the list, then select it.

6. (Optional) Click the Sub Types dropdown to add one or more sub types, such as Production. Each selection appears as a removable tag below the field.

7. Save your changes.

Things to Know

  • Changing an asset's Type can change which fields and analysis tabs (such as Valves, XTs, or Sensors) are available for that asset.

  • Sub Types support multiple selections and can be added or removed independently of the main Type.

  • Class, Part Number, and Serial Number are edited separately and aren't affected by changing the Type.
