ROV Utilization Entries are used to record how ROV time is spent across subsea operations, transit, port time, standby, downtime, and other activity categories.

Step 1: Navigate to ROV Utilization Entries

  1. Open the left-hand navigation.

  2. Go to IMR.

  3. Under ROV Utilization, select Entries.

You’ll see a list of all existing ROV entries, including their status, inspection name, and summarized operation hours by category.

Step 2: Create a New ROV Entry

  1. In the ROV Entries screen, click Add New Entry.

  2. In the Add Entry details modal, complete the following fields:

Required Fields

  • Date
The calendar date the ROV activity occurred.

  • Operation Hours
Select the expected total operational hours for the day (e.g. 24 Hours).

Optional Fields

  • Inspection
Link the entry to an inspection if the activity is inspection-related.

Click Save (or Save and New if you are creating multiple entries).

Once saved, the entry will appear in the entries list with a Complete or Incomplete status depending on whether operations have been logged.

Step 3: Open the Entry Day Summary

  1. Click on the newly created entry.

  2. You will be taken to the Day Summary view for that date.

At the top of the page, you may see a notification such as:

“The total hours of operations are less than the expected hours.”

This means operations have not yet been added or the total logged time does not equal the expected daily hours.

Step 4: Add Operations to the Entry

Operations represent how ROV time was spent during the day.

  1. In the Day Summary view, click Add New Operation.

  2. In the Add Entry details modal, fill in the operation details.

Operation Fields

  • Work Order
Optional reference to a work order or job number.

  • Description
Brief description of the activity performed.

  • Category
Select the appropriate category, such as:

    • Subsea Operations

    • Transit

    • Port

    • Standby Support

    • Waiting on Weather

    • ROV Scheduled Maintenance

    • ROV Downtime

    • Offline (12 Hours Ops)

  • Time Entry Method
    Choose one of the following:

    • Start Time / End Time – Enter exact timestamps.

    • Hours – Enter total duration directly.

  1. Click Save to add the operation.

The operation will now appear in the Day Summary table with its calculated hours.

Step 5: Complete the Day’s Operations

Repeat Add New Operation until all ROV activity for the day is logged.

Best practices:

  • Ensure the sum of all operation hours equals the expected daily operation hours (e.g. 24 hours).

  • Use clear descriptions to support reporting and audits.

  • Avoid overlapping time ranges when using start and end times.

Once all operations are added and the total hours match expectations, the warning banner will clear automatically.

Step 6: Review the Entry in the ROV Entries List

Return to ROV Utilization > Entries to confirm:

  • Operation hours are summarized correctly by category.

  • The entry status reflects completion.

  • Data is ready for reporting and dashboards.
