Overview
Search Radius lets you pick any spot in the 3D model and instantly see every video whose recorded coordinates fall within a defined distance of that point. It's the fastest way to review historical footage of a specific location.
When to Use It
You want every angle captured of a specific spot, regardless of which dive or campaign it came from.
You're investigating an anomaly and need video evidence from the surrounding area.
The location of interest sits between assets (e.g., a section of pipeline or a touchdown point) and isn't tied to a single tagged component.
How to Use Search Radius
Step 1: Open the virtual environment
Navigate to the 2D Map or 3D Model view for your field.
Step 2: Enable Search Radius
In the toolbar at the top of the viewer, click the Search Radius icon. The toolbar will switch into Search Radius mode and the icon's tooltip will read Search Radius.
Step 3: Set Your Radius
A Search Radius slider appears at the top of the viewer.
Drag the slider, or
Type a value directly into the number field (in meters).
The default is 10m. Smaller radii (e.g., 5m) return tightly scoped results; larger radii capture more surrounding footage.
Step 4: Pick a Point
Double-click any surface in the 3D model and a red circle appears on the seabed showing the search area, and you can view the Videos from Coordinates side panel on the right.
Step 5: Review the Results
The panel shows:
Easting, Northing — the exact coordinates of the point you clicked.
Videos from coordinates — every video whose recorded track passes through the highlighted area.
Click any video title to open it, or click the expand icon to view it in a larger player.
Tips
Adjust on the fly. You can change the radius after placing a point — the red circle and results update immediately.
Click anywhere. You don't need to click on a tagged asset. Open seabed, flowline runs, and touchdown points all work.
